Catherine:It's a tradition that everyone when meeting the Pope should wear black and women should cover their hair. Only Catholic queens may wear white. I don't know where the tradition began. I don't think it presumes that the Pope is greater than or equal to Christ, it's more a sign of respect of his office as Christ's Vicar.
I love seeing Nadinoo in Frankie! and this was such a great idea for an article...so many in our generation think we';re coming up with new ideas, when our parents and grandparents did it all first! Love being inspired by my predecessors :)
