Wow. That is quite shocking. Here in South Africa we have some horrid birthing stories too, but we keep the mother in her bed where she gave birth as long as is necessary. We also don’;t shave the moms-to-be, although they can do so if they wish. I’;m sorry you had such a horrible experience. I’;ll be doing an elective in India at the end of the year and I’;ll do my best not to let such event recur.
