When I lived on the West Coast most recently, I made the acquaintance of a very smart and educated woman, originally from Arkansas. Definitely no wingnut or conspiracy theorist, but quite objective and perceptive. Also definitely no right winger.She swore that the Clintons had killed various people in Arkansas to get them out of their way so they could move up and ahead.It seemed too wild - I didn't believe it - but considering the source (reliable, in my view), I also didn't forget it.

The blackout has forced a question: If Google, or another high-usage portion of the internet, were to change their policies to be more active in voicing their opinions about public matters in ways which you were either for or against, would they effectively have too much power over our democratic process?Google can do other things to protest besides shutting down, however.
